The EU

The EU has apparently issued a directive to all it’s embassies in Havana to effectively block the attendance of Cuban dissidents at EU member embassy functions by pre-screening guest lists and making sure anyone who might attempt to make ant-government statements or protests are not invited.

There is also a report that organizers at the recent film festival in Rotterdam decided not to screen “Submission” the film by murdered Dutch movemaker Theo van Gogh because it would anger local Muslims.

The UN has released its report on Darfur which stops short of calling the ongoing killing there genocide which allows the UN to avoid any prompt and serious military action.

Seems to me the common thread connecting these events is that talk is cheap.
