It’s been reported that another soldier from the Black Watch Battle Group has been killed and another seriously injured.
In a climate where it is obvious to even the insane that their presence is not wanted in that area, or Iraq in general, then why are they there? They are acting as nothing more than targets. Now, before anyone comments on the good they are doing, the Iraqi people aren’t exactly rushing to the support of Britain and America are they?
Perhaps it has something to do with the attitude of the American troops in the area. An American soldier was shown on Sky News painting a slogan in Arabic on the side of his AFV. When asked what it meant he answered “Stay away or we’ll kill you.” Hardly guaranteed to win hearts and minds.
Is it time we pulled out? Before any more young men go to their deaths “believing in the lies that left them lying in the mud.”
