First time of posting photographs, just getting to know the camera and would welcome views.
Using a Cannon Eos 1000d with 70 to 300mm zoom.
The weather was fair but the light i think was poor for pictures?

re: AVP
Thanks for all the responces.
As ringways web site is no longer being updated, is there anyway to know ahead of time what would be due in on the 28th?

Hi, i use a 70 to 300mm zoom which is ok for the runway shots and then for taxi closer.
Once they get closer you cant help the fence.
I am going to try around the other side of the airport soon for take of and landing shots.
I presume once the weather gets better and get more use to the camera the photos will improve?
The ‘bigger’ the lens you use the more light it needs to produce a decent exposure, it’s better to get as close as you physically can rarther than rely on zooming in too much. In aviation photography you generally can’t get too close so zooming is essential. Yes, it’s also better in nice bright light on a sunny day, preferably with the sun behind you.
You’ll find the Canon 1000D quite easy to use with some practice, getting the shot nicely framed and composed is the trickiest bit to get used to, but practice makes perfect.

I was just owndering the max lense size you can use from the mounds?
I use a 70mm – 300mm lense. I don’t think I’d want to try much less than that for the stuff on the runway, but it’s a bit big for anythin larger than a 757 taxiing past.
Does taking photos from the mound, remove the fence from the photo’s
Yes. Pretty much, anyway. Again, if you try and shoot a 757 or larger in profile as it taxis past, you’ll catch a bit of fence but if you shoot on the runway or shots like this you’ll be fine:

On a side note, the AVP is into the sun for the morning… so you’re best trying to be there in the afternoon

Darkrune,
You don’t need a seperate thread for every one or two pictures.
One thread per day is the usual way.
Cheers, and welcome.
