Well…my mother’s maiden name is Harling…my marital name is Harding…I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve given my mother’s maiden name and been told, “no, your mother’s maiden name”…”I’ve just told you”…”no I asked for your mother’s maiden name”…~through gritted teeth~ “My surname is HARDING, my mother’s maiden name is HARLING!”…”oh”…so far I have resisted the temptation to add “now have you got that you stupid muppet/tart/twonk/nork/favourite insult of the day”…:D

I am sure you always misread the name of those centers… It is not “help” desk, but hell desk.

And you wouldn’t tell, but in those days, it is a big trend to rebrand them as service centers. What service -I don’t know- … 😀

Funny I just had a similar conversation with HSBC, trying to get my credit card balance.

Are all banking customer service desk operators single cell amoebas ? Note I didn’t mention ‘help’ anywhere in that last sentence, it’s the last thing they do.
