Credit/ID theft

This is becoming a huge problem throughout the world and it seems to me that institutions arent coming up with anything substantial to combat it. Ive always felt credit cards are a very loose way of transfering money even before the internet hacking craze and I think its about time that technology comes up with some real time verification technics. Ofcourse this also brings about the fear of Big Brother tracking us with some kind of tracking implants. What are your thoughts?

Credit cards are starting to use disposable one-time use credit card numbers associated with your account for online shopping.

We one uses a credit card ( at least here in France) he is asked to pay a fee.
This fee includes an insurance. Every year the fee goes up since the fraud goes up as well.
The credit card company garanties the Retailer to be paid when one purchases something.
If there is a fraud who get screwed?
Not the bank nor the insurance company nor the retailer. Who’s left? 😀

They are a relatively new addition to credit cards in the UK. I don’t know if there are any figures available to tell if they’ve made a difference ? My cards have only had chips on them for a couple of years.

Can someone explain to me.
Here we use since 15 years credit card with a microchip.
This chip contains secret info , a PIN code and other crypted information.

It does supress the fraud tut it reduce it dramatically.

I have never seen that abroad. Does it exist in your country folks?
