Friends? 20 times a bloody week?
Are Channel 4 trying to bore us to sleep?
Any thoughts?

No problem. I used to watch it too, but then all the episodes seemed a bit of the same old same old week after week.
I didn’t realize people in the UK enjoyed it too. 🙂
Friends has been quiet huge here i like it but can’t rate it above our own comedy classics such as “porridge” “only fools and horses” “Blackadder” “faulty towers” etc.

Monica Lewinsky (spelling?) – is she on there?

If she was I bet she’d suck. 😉

My wife apparently looks like one of them. Short dark hair, my wife. Ring any bells? Can’t judge, because I don’t watch crap – I write it.

One watches purely for Jennifer Aniston (sad loser…).
Having met her face-to-face (long story….) I can tell you that the TV doesn’t do her justice – she’s quite lovely “in the flesh”, as it were.
Funny lady, too…… 🙂
And no…..I can’t stand the bl**dy programme!

I know two people who watch – or will admit to watching – Friends.
One watches purely for Jennifer Aniston (sad loser…;)).
The other said she did feel that maybe Channel 4 was going a little over the top in trying to encourage people to stay with it for Big Brother (oh god:().
These are the sort of people I have to work with…

I imagine it would be a problem if channel 4 was the only channel available.
there are other things one can do besides watching channel 4 like: watching channel 3…
Channel 3 is ITV in Britain – home to soaps, former soap actors trying to escape being stereo-typed by starring in action dramas, and trashy quizes.
My point was that Channel 4 seems to have decided to ignore those viewers who do not want to watch Friends by white-washing the schedules to make it difficult not to watch it. Even the home-buyers and DIY freaks will be complaining that they have been squeezed out…

One of my youngest colleagues (she was born a year after I joined 😮 ) took a magazine test on which “Friend” she was. (She is a blonde) : Phoebe! Just what she wanted! 😀
Well, people say I’m a bit like that Chandler-guy: very sarcastic towards other people.

I’m with Flood and Snapper all the way on this one. ITS JUST NOT FUNNY, not even slightly amusing.

there are other things one can do besides watching channel 4 like: watching channel 3, expressing one’s love for another, telling people their signatures are too large, BBQ(ing) koalas, watching a movie about how a british-yank shot down 2000 aircraft in one day and lots, lots, lots more.

I think its just the usual canned American crap – but this time with a media approved and caused frenzy. It’s been dull and pathetic from day one. The characters are rubbish, and it’s not actually funny.
