Flew to Schiphol from East Midlands for a few days hoping to catch the Air Bridge and Jade Cargo – and very obliging they were too. Mixture of weather from glorious sun, to wind and torrential rain but this did not dampen any spirits. All taken from Panorama terrace except for one. No prizes for guessing which one!!!
Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed being there. Comments welcome.
Cheers
Stu

Sharp eyed tartan buddy saw this as a photo opportunity. British, UK and GB so I had to bag it.

Sorry guys that I have not been able to reply due to personal problems.
Thanks to Tenthije I think all questions have been answered – many thanks Tenthije for that.
Cloud 9 No information I am afraid but can tell you that 16 different NWA were there each day.
Lukeylad – Tenthije is correct. Using Canon 350D with 100-400is.
Thanks for all comments and pleased that you like. Once again sorry i couldn’t reply earlier.
Cheers
Stu

Thanks for that. It’s next Tuesday morning that I arrive, i’m on the red eye 05.55 flight from Newcastle. Oh the joys of getting up at 4am 🙁
I will have to have a better look, perhaps last time I was just unlucky. I have a 70-300mm lens so should be able to get some half decent shots…
You should Try getting up at 2.30am to check that flight in! :diablo:

Cracking pics!
Is there more than one panorama terrace at Schipol? I had a look a few weeks ago and didn’t see anything exciting. I’m back over next week though and have some time to kill before my colleague arrives….I may take my slr along for the ride :p
If you arrive on saturday I might be able to join you.
As for the observation deck itself, there is only one but as you know it is huge. With sufficient zoom a lot can be done here, the photos above seem to be taken with a Bigma or a 100-400L or equivalent. No doubt Stuart can better tell you about his equipment.
There are a handfull of spots on the perimeter, some accesible with public transport, others most definately not.

Yes, and your spelling is spot on.
Thanx for that! I was still at school in 1973 when we visited, what a place and worth every penny. I think that the planes were a little different then:)

Excuse my ignorance, but what is ‘Madurodam’, looks like a model village with a mock-up of AMS?
Either way, I want to visit, any ideas on how to get to it and how much it costs?
It’s indeed a model village and it does indeed contain a mock-up of Schiphol. Only partial though, as Schiphol has expanded over the years and a model Sschiphol it would not fit into the Madurodam grounds.
Entry price is 13,75 euro for adults. For descriptions on how to get there I’ll refer you to the Madurodam website.

Wow Stu, some cracking stuff there…nice to see something different!
That first pic of all those NW a/c is interesting, do you know how many flights do they have to/from AMS and where do they serve? I know their hubs in the USA are MSP/DTW and SEA (I think?), and I assume they are operated as a code-share with KLM too?
Is the last one Madurodam?
