I found a couple of documents online that may be of interest in showing how commercial aircraft are evaluated for purchase.
The U.S. Bureau of Land management is evaluating (on paper at least) the CN-235 as a modern platform to deliver “Smoke jumpers” to major forest and wild fires. Currently they use DHC-6 and (I belive) turbine DC-3s.
The first document are answers to specific BLM questions.
The answers were provided by EADS.
