I was impressed with Damon in the Bourne Identity as well. Glad to know he’s signed on for a sequel.
As for Christopher Lee and the LOTR trilogy, since they filmed all three movies at once, were the scenes filmed and then cut from ROTK?

I’m not very fussy when it comes to films and just enjoy a good story. I quite enjoyed Underground (the vampires vs werewolves movie), and Lord of the Rings (all three… especially Gollum)… though I do agree that it was a shame that Christopher Lee asked for more money and was then subsequently written out of the last movie. The Matrix III was good, but I haven’t seen pirates of the Carribean.
I personally like the Bond series… and movies like it. I was pleasantly surprised by the Bourne Identity as I wasn’t really a Matt Damon(?) fan. I am less impressed by ego actors… like Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible movies or Westly Snipes in Blade and Blade II. (Especially the latter where he takes 5 mins to break every bone in the bodies of the vampires and then he uses a silver plated bullet or sword to actually destroy them…)

Some of my favorite films have come from the UK…Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, anyone? 😀

Love Actually did it for me.
Sounds sad that I should like such a film, but it’s great to see such a successful British film, especially when most consider the UK film industry to be non-existent.
I found the film good in more ways than the one; the storyline was good and featured various relationships, but it started with many random stories which could not be linked. Only at the end do we realise that all of the characters can be linked to one another in a way.
It was released back in November (?) and I heard yesterday (31 Dec) from a friend that the film is still selling out after she turned up to a sold-out screening.

He was on the telly a couple of days ago, I think they said he’s making a film here at the moment

I’d like to see ROTK win the Best Picture Oscar, just because the trilogy does deserve that kind of achievement. Of course, that won’t happen, it’ll probably go to something asinine as usual, like Cold Mountain
I didn’t even see Matrix: Revolutions, but I will say that my favorite character of the year, and the best acting performace in a supporting role in my opinion, was most definitely Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith in Matrix: Reloaded. The man was born for that part 😎
The guy that played Russel Crowe’s brother (?) in Master… did a very nice job as well, he should also get nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

the Lord of the Rings the Return of the King gets my vote. it beats the Matrix Revolutions by miles – that was just to complex and confusing to watch. i bet that LOTR will win atleast one Oscar – it will definately be nominated for a load of awards.

Master And Commander for me. I was too disappointed with the way they fouled up the ending of Return Of The King to consider that one.
I do have to say that Paycheck was a suprisingly good film, even though they strayed quite a bit from Phillip K. D1ck’s storyline.
T3 was also very good as far as I’m concerned.
