I haven’t the slightest idea, as I got mine here in the US at Wal-Mart. They are real cheap though for one this size. It’s perfect for a 20 oz Porterhouse when the temperature is ridiculously low 😎

I’ll order some material through McMaster-Carr and make one to suit our fireplace , I figure that a platform cut to the size of the firegrate and legs to locate on the grate should be ok . It’s really just an excuse to burn coal – I’m a reformed pyromaniac 😀 😀

Nothing wrong with a winter-BBQ. Done it plenty of times, both because it tastes good but it’s also a nice way to have at least something to do when planespotting. Okay, so perhaps the forest patrol guy doesn’t like it (just ask at Ramstein, where we were friendly enough to put our burning BBQ in the car and drive it to a parking lot where a bit of grilling was allowed), and maybe the security guys get a little paranoid (just ask at Frankfurt, where back in the Desert Storm-days it was very difficult to keep a smoking BBQ and a Scud-in-preparation apart), but at least it’s part of the fun.

I have another BBQ planned for this week, on my fourth-floor balcony. Great place: if it really gets too cold (below minus 10 or so) we can always go inside. Also, the balcony is covered so a little rain won’t matter. I believe even my neighbours are used to it now. The only problem might be when i run out of charcoal, probably half way through February.

Been there !! , BBQ in the garage with snow blowing around outside , I HATE BBQ food , but it’s worth it for the drinking involved . Woke up next morning to find that we had removed my shed door and broke it up so we could light a fire in a wheelbarrow – just to keep us warm . Best thing about BBQ’s is the lack of house tiding in the morning , you just throw all of the disposables in your neighbours bin .:)

I did invite a load of mates round for a Christmas Day barbie last year, but everyone declined. No sense of fun…

Still it was very hot for once hope 2004 is more of the same.

Nah – thats standard British Summer Time flame-grilled cooking! Charcoaled exterior, raw interior. Lovely. Few mozzies and a sudden downpour – perfect! – Nermal
