Tyranical Iraqi despot, Saddam Hussein has been captured this morning in Tikrit apparently, whilst trying to evade capture by hastily applying a stick on beard to his bonce and singing “white christmas” with a child perched upon his knee ! 😀 😉 :p

Perhaps the USAF was tring to hit the point, but missed entirely. How unlike them to do such a thing.

And even more amusing to see the pro-American crowd completely miss the point… 😉

How many times did he ape for the camera with a gun or a sword? At the end he was caught like a rat in a hole but instead of fighting like a ****-house rat he give up without a wimper. A total coward.:D
Good for the US and I for one don’t care how may times they say “God bless America!”:p

Whilst I hold no support for anything he has ever done I have to say:
“Captured without a shot being fired” well, well done Saddam is all I can say. A crafty old fox to the last.
Think about it !

That’s a bleeing – have you seen his wives? The only difference between them and catfish are that one lot have whiskers and smell, whilst the other lot are fish.

Reason he turned evil was because he only comes once a year, and even that’s down the chimney.

Maybe it was a reindeer revolt. He perhaps tried to make Donner and Blitzen wear burkas. Or put a pitta around the former even.
Nasty fella, treating them poor wee animals in that way.

Do you reckon the elves grassed him up? I would never trust an elf. Bloody goody-two-shoes, the lot of them.

I have to say I was also quite disappointed by the “God bless America” comment which the spokesman uttered at the end of the press conference.
Right up until that point, the US were doing a bloody good job of making the Iraqis feel this was a new beginning for them, but then they just had to go and tag that on the end of it. Will they ever learn the principle of hearts and minds…?

I have too agree with you Kevin. Despite the frivolity of my posts earlier, you have perfectly summarised what I have been thinking all day. Unfortunately, yes more people will die and this particular episode is in danger of becoming a pantomime.:(

That’s highly unlikely. The west is far too civilised for that (unfortunately, in this case), and I doubt very much that the Iraqis will go against the wishes of the west. The new administration is eager to please; they have to be, they need the investment.
I do think Kev’s hit the nail on the head though; it’ll be, erm, interesting, to see what Iraq is like in a few months time. The British zone is far less tricky than Baghdad, but I just hope to God that Basra isn’t my brother’s next posting….
