Is the forum now issuing pop up ads ?

I just got a pop ad there advertising a flight contest on History Channel, when I logged on there. Anyone else get it ?

If you download the google taskbar it stops popups, tells you when you get a popup and also gives you quick access to Google

I don’t understand why people won’t use a web browser that allows you to turn off pop-ups. No plug ins, no purchasing extra software; a browser with the function built in.

May I recommend Opera, Safari (for those Mac users), Mozilla…?

Opera has the choice of allowing pop-ups, disallowing them, or only allowing requested pop-up windows. I keep mine on the latter option and never see a single advert splat the middle of my screen.

You do not have to use Microsoft products, just because everyone else does!

Oh, and while I’m on my soapbox, ditch Outlook as well. What are all the viruses written for? Use something else and you’re less likely to pick up something nasty.

Here endeth the advert 😉

Yes because I have a pop up stopper and the number of pop-ups stopped is displayed on the toolbar and it has gone up alot.

I reccomend you download one of the many free pop up stoppers, I have the google one which is bulit into the toolbar.

When you install it, it will come up with a box which looks like the usual terms and conditions where you are asked to accept or not accept, but this is only for the advertisment software so if you click ‘not accept’, the free google software will install but with out the advertisment software which consists of probably more popups
