Their concern was always that it had to be done equitably (ie. not just on the whim of the President) and that any land given over had to remain in farming use and the new owners must be able to produce crops. They’be been proven right in their misgivings.

But this, together with crisis in Malawi and elsewhere, has convinced me never, ever, to give to charity. Through their incompetence and corruption they only perpetuate problems.
