New Aer Lingus CEO

It had been rumoured for weeks now but today the announcment came. The new Aer Lingus CEO is an ex Emirates man. Dermot Mannion.
Alot of people are speculating he will be the one to introduce more long haul routes to the Aer Lingus fleet network.

Aer Lingus has announced the appointment of Dermot Mannion as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Mannion is currently working as President of Group Support Services with Emirates Airline. He will take up the appointment with Aer Lingus in August.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Mannion said the airline’s former CEO, Willie Walsh, would be a hard act to follow.

He added that he hoped to build on the continuing achievements of the Aer Lingus management team.

I was just hoping that the former CEO got a bunch of money when he left.
We just have a case of a French CEO who was fired but got a 39 million € package when he got fired!!!
