Which pop up blockers do you guys use and which do you find most effective and most unobtrusive on you system and screen.
I have used on that I cant remember what it was. But this one was taking up too much time analyzing and messing about with the system as well as the popups and became annoying after a while.
What do you reccomend.
Also the one I used blocked popups when I clicked a link such as a link from these pages. Do they all do that.

Merlin
If you are using Windows just disable “active scripting” in the internet settings before you use Internet Explorer and set it back on after you finish. Simple. No pop ups.
There are a few sites such as this forum which will not open but you will soon adjust to the excetions. Takes a few seconds but you should be using the internet settings contols to clean up your system after each internet session anyway.

Irritating little things, aren’t they?
I’m using FilterGate and it has filtered 1501 items since I downloaded it. I’m not sure where I got it from though, although I know it was free.
The current FilterGate on the download.com website has a shareware version which allows 2000 items to be filtered before you must pay for it.

I have the google toolbar installed (free download, and very useful – can search in a site, rather than whole web, if you wish) and they have recently updated it with the inclusion, amongst other things, of a pop up blocker. Even works on the 12 ‘o’ clock high forum!
