Hi Rab
Welcome back. Thought you must have been reading the operators manual for your camera as I haven’t seen anything from you. Goodn’s again – are you now auditioning for a series with David Attenborough!!!
Cheers

Rab, sorry to steal the post.

Rob just remember that in Aperture Priority mode ‘AV’ that the aperture (F Stop) will determine what the shutter speed is. When I shoot in AV mode, I always keep an eye on the shutter speed and then I can adjust the aperture accordingly to get the desired shutter speed. Of course adjusting the aperture will affect the depth of field. These are all things that need to be considered.
When the sun does shine again (IF) then using F8 on a sunny day is usually sufficient to ensure a good shutter speed.

Rab – Personal favourite has to the B767 head on! Nice one

Adam

Thanks adam when the sun finally shines i think it would be more easier testing different fuctions out

Rab i think the one with the birds havin a little soak could be used as a desktop screensaver lol cute … come on bird lovers deep ur hand in your pockets lol

Good wee selection Rab. Couldn’t work out what you meant by BEATLE on #1 … then on close examination of the photo I saw a tiny John Lennon title up front. Good un of the starlings taking a bath.

i have been getting alot of advice to from paul (pmn) and adam (spalding)

i always took photos with the camera on auto never thinking that the camera was just guessing on which setting to use

i just wish the weather would brighten up so i can get out there and play about with my camera

anyway your photos are awesome and thanks for passing on the advice

Rob firstly thanks for your comment, i might not be the best person to ask this question as i am still learning myself, but on todays photo’s:
ISO 200
F/Stop 6.3
1/160th sec
Hope this gives u some idea, i have been getting help with my DSLR from two guys at GLA kevinwm and fred seggie they have steered me on the right track but the best bit of advice they both gave me was to take a photo then write down the settings in a note book and when you view them on your pc you can look at the settings and see which is working the best. The other bit of advice they gave me was play around with the settings on the camera and see what it does hope this helps, this is not my advice i am just passing on the advice i was given by two fellow spotters at my local.
Again hope this helps mate
