Cloudy Gatwick – 06/01/08 – Large thread

Hey all,
Was my first trip out for 2008, was a little cloudy. Shame, i think the quality of the shots would have been better if it was sunny. Anyhow, this was only my 4th time out with the camera, and the more shots i take, the more comfortable im starting to feel with it. Sorry, if this thread takes an age, last time people asked if the pics could be a little bigger. Thanks going in the way of Scott for the disk!:diablo: Now…… the pics.(In no order)

Love the EZY pics, work for them out of LGW. Speaking of which, think I’ve spotted you with your camera on the perimeter road a few times on my way to/from Concorde House. (random fact :))

Keep up the good work and try to get a pic of an EZY a/c when I’m actually in it. I’ll put a sign in the window. 🙂

Great shots, Josh.

The bmi A319 was operating to/from Barcelona on Sunday. 🙂

I think the Flybe Jersey & Belfast City flights are nearly all 195 operated now.

BMI do operate weekend charter flights from LGW during peak Summer and Winter, so that probably explains why the 319 was there.

Nice shots Josh!:)

I also wondered what the BMI was doing, but seeing as I’ve never been there on a sunday before, I just assumed it must have been a regular schedueld flight.

Nice pics, by the way Josh!

Unusual to see bmi at LGW. Anyone know what was that 319 doing?

What routes are Flybe’s 190’s doing from LGW?

Nice to see G-EZAF. Myself and Adam Spalding have happy memories of that aircraft!

As I’ve said before, Josh, for your fourth shooting session they’re excellent. You’ve very quickly grasped the concept of composition! Just try keep an eye on your shutter speed and try keep it at least equal to your focal length (or as a rough guide just try generally stay above 1/250). This will increase the number of sharp shots you get.

With regard to weather, when it’s sunny you do indeed almost always get better shots that when its cloudy but the more you use your camera and the better you get at editing, the more you’ll learn to deal with poor light. You can never make a shot taken on a crap day look like one on a good day, but with practice you’ll eventually be getting plenty of keepers even when the sun decides to hide. In fact, the way you’re going on you’ll be doing that sooner than you probably think!

Good work fella. Keep it up!

Paul
