Had any snow yet?

Anyone had any snow fall where they live? I would love it to snow where I live, but for some reason we always miss out!?! 🙁

RE: Had any snow yet?

In fact the chaos was not due to a car crash but to ice on the road.
There is a big ramp an Freeway A10 west of PAris and the salt treatment of the pavement came too late.

In this case the problem wasn’t due to bad driver behaviour but to bad crisis mamagement.

RE: Had any snow yet?

every major orad and bus route is slated BUT – the snow came down so quick and unexpected that gritters couldn’t keep up (prehaps they need more – but they won’t be used for about 300 out of 365 day of the year if they come out for frosts as well)

anyway …..

BTW – having fun frank 😉

RE: Had any snow yet?

Have a bit snow (around 1 cm) for one week now, but this morning, there was ICE!!! Not very comfortable to drive, i slipped over 30 meters with my car, while driving at around 5 km/h . Luckily, there was a parking covered by snow and dirt in that curve…

RE: Had any snow yet?

Yep ,
We got snow on last WE around PAris. This turned into a disaster on the freeway where thousnads of cars were stucked almost 20h. I was one of them even if I could manage to escape after only (!!!) 4 hours.

An other nice aspect of the French unefficiency !!!

Freeways and airports were blocked by less thans 2 inches of snow. You guys in Nordic , Canada or North west of the US must have a good laugh at us !

RE: Had any snow yet?

I envy you people in the South East sooo much! I have not seen snow in any great quantity over here for 5 years! I suppose my upcoming skiing trip is the only chance I will get to see snow this year 🙁

RE: Had any snow yet?

Yes Dave I saw it this morning, a light dusting of snow, but weather buffs say there is another 2-3inches to come for the south east over night! 🙂

RE: Had any snow yet?

We maybe get a light dusting of snow once a year, usually near the end of winter… so only about 8 months to wait… 🙂

No snow down here, not even any rain! Only nice fluffy pink clouds. What a beautiful sunny day it has been.

we got our “anaual” (it normally appens on average once a year if were lucky) snowfall yestrday morning.

its was very funny as my best mate and two neoghbours cam back from a weeks skiing holiday today

most of its melted now but there is still a bit around – it was only about 2 inches – 5 cm anyway.

still me, my sister and my dad had a great snowbal fight last night 😉

RE: Had any snow yet?

Despite being the part of Spain with the worst weather, no snow here. We have temperatures between 9-14 in winter with rain, rain rain and wind. And in summer usually from 18-35 also with frecuent rain. Temparatures rarely go bellow five in winter.

RE: Had any snow yet?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-01-03 AT 11:14 AM (GMT)]Whats snow ?

We hoped for a white Xmas but this is what we got instead (taken at around 6.15 in the morning)and about 20 degrees outside temp.

However, there was snow on the top of the Troodos mountain range which is only an hours drive from here. When it snows tho’ they normally get upto 15 feet snow drifts and the roads are often impassable even with a 4 x 4 and snow chains. The local police often close the roads upto the mountains.

Its crazy, you can go ski’ing in the morning, finish midday and back to the beach for water ski’ing or some snorkelling and theres only an hours drive between the two !

Cheers

Gary
