Who is going to celebrate and see the new year in first out of all the Forum members ?
.
Out here in Cyprus, we are GMT + 2, Wombat and Co are GMT + 8, and I dont know any other time differences, hence the question.
cheers
Gary

Try a restart. Sorry – it buggers me up when my computer decides it wants a new look too!

4000 dpi for scanning on a canon FS4000US, but I confess to 1600 on my Epson 1640 for 6×9 Medium Format negs.
Paper? Well, most of all I print on my minilab (up to 12×18, R-type photographic paper through wet chemistry). But I have been fiddling with Ilford Gallerie Pearl paper this week – and the black and white quality is very good.

RE: New Year
Guys
New Zealand is two hours ahead of Australia, assuming they share eastern daylight saving time with us. They share the same time zone as many Pacific Islands, so they will be the first to greet the new year. There are some small Pacific Island groups which are actually further east than NZ, so they get to greet the dawn first. You might remember the fuss made over the dawning of the new century in 2000, where groups of people flocked to those islands to be amongst the first to greet the new millenium (even though it really was still a year away.
Gary,
During our summer, we are actually GMT +11, I think, due to daylight saving time. Normally, we are GMT +10, and during our winter/the UK summer, GMT +9. ( I think)
To all forum members, from those of us on the wrong side of the world, as Christmas day is but three hours away, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I sincerely hope it is a peaceful, prosperous and successful one for all of you.
Regards
Wombat
