Kabir-Indian scales can be aproximated with 7 note western scales, but I think they actually have about 25 notes to the octave. You should really try and learn some of your cultures music.

RE: A small quiz for the guitar men of our forums!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-12-02 AT 09:09 AM (GMT)]Dcfly , you must be right. Narcisso Yepes had a special made classic guitar with 10 strings.
Hard to play and I’m not sure that’s a record.
However I have a 12 string epiphone but it’s something quite different.
cbstd . I still have my In-agga-da-vida record. I don’t know if it’s the longest song but sureley the longest studio drums solo.

RE: A small quiz for the guitar men of our forums!
Duane Allman?? what a waste of as good axeman, Layla was one of the last things he ever did before his untimely death, any of you youngsters who play guitar could do a lot worse than listen to this guy play slide, superb!!!
The fastest guitarist?? there are many jazz guitarists who could make the likes of Edie VH look slow.
Then, what is fast? running up and down a scale? or playing at 16/4 time rather than 4/4, if you’ve got the technique and the know how then you can do most things with a guitar.
Tapping ?? I thought it was Joe Satriani.
A pentatonic scale? to me it means blues, but it is a five note scale.
The guitar with the most strings?? I’ll have to look in the Guinness Book of Records for that one, I’ll take a guess and say 10.
Come on Kabir give us the answers!!

The music for the Godfather was written by Francis Ford Coppala’s father Carmine who was a famous conductor. Francis got his middle name because he was born in Detroit while his father was conducting the Detroit Symphony and the hospital he was born in was endowded by the Ford family.
