I was back in the UK recently and whilst traipsing round sunny Salisbury (well it would have been sunny apart from the low cloud, rain, and cold wind !) and saw this advert in a Building society window proudly proclaiming that ‘Nothing rhymes with Purple !’.
What a load of sphericals !!!
I thought that Turtle rhymes with Purple…I’ll have to get me dictionary out and have a ‘Furkle’

Hadn’t thought about the other color / colours ! and more to the point who’s the clever so and so that decided that the word ‘orange’ actually describes an orange ? (which it does perfectly!)

Nor does anything rhyme with orange.
Of course, green, red, blue and white all have rhymes. Not silver though. Nope. Is it only restricted to colours do you think? What about in other languages? Orange, in French for example, is Orange. Hmmm.

In actual fact I dont think anything does rhyme with purple, the actual phonetic sound i.e. ..urple
