I’m looking to purchase a computer, and I’ve heard that Medion, primarily a German company, assembles fantastic computers from name brand parts for really cheap prices.
But does anyone here know how their warranty would extend to ppl in the US, and how they might service US customers?

Hey, real support has its price… look HP, with a support pack (on the servers), you can have someone from HP there in… 4 hours. Even if the mouse is broken 🙂 Don’t ask how much it costs, though..

Here in Germany we have two Medion computers and are very, very satisfied with them. In terms of value for money they are unbeatable and have never posed any problems. We have two Medion monitors as well, one of them broke down and was replaced under warranty (took them a month to send me a new one, but no quibbling or other problems on their part).

Medion normally makes computer for companies comparable to Wall Mart here in Germany. These machines are quite ok. Mostly limited when you want to upgrade and not the fastest on the market, but ok for the average user.

Just looking for something faster than my 233 Mhz P-classic, I figure that with ~600, I can get a decent Athlon rig with OEM parts.

I fear it will be a problem. A warranty through Europe is possible, but in the US???
If you want deop me a mail with spares you can get in a store near you, how much money you have and what you want, and I’ll tell you a good configuration. (It won’t change me from my job 😀 )
