[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-10-02 AT 01:00 PM (GMT)]Ok, here in Brazil, police corps are organized pretty much like in US: each states has its own police organization, and there is a federal police (like the FBI) to take care of federal crimes. And, in each state, there are 2 kind of police organizations: a civilian one and a military one. Making a very short explanation: civilian police takes care of investigations and military police takes care of police streets and stuff like that. There are also ‘highway police’ and as we have state highways and federal highways, there are also state highway polices and federal highway polices. Confusing, huh? As I do think we all here are pretty much more aviation lovers than cars and boats lovers, I’ll just pictures from police helicopters.
This one is a HB-350 Esquilo (Ecureil) used by PMSC (Santa Catarina Military Police) and that I see everyday overflying my house

This one is a Bell 206-L4 LongRanger IV which belongs to the military police from the state where I was born.

And at last, this is a Federal Highway Police Bell 407 that is often based in an aeroclub near my house

P.S.: none of these pictures were taken by myself!

I don’t understand, I can see umbrellas but it doesn’t appear to be raining? & where is that bright light coming from???
Seriously, yes you’re right I saw something somewhere that implied that the reason for the change from white to silver is simply because the plods can get more money when the vehicles are sold. Apparently silver is more popular than white.
Cheers!
……. Now where’s my scarf & wellies….
