>>How many weekly/monthly aircraft publications does everyone buy
A LOT! I didn’t buy my first Air international or FSM until I was 17. It was another 3 years before my collection really kicked in but a full time job helped at the time. 🙂
My library has been 15 years now in the growing.
OK.
My collection.
Australian Aviation
Aircraft & Aerospace Asia Pacific (on occasion depending on content)
ModelArt (bi-monthly)
Fine Scale Modeller
Scale Aircraft Modelling
APDR
Military Technology
Naval Forces
Combat Aircraft (bi-monthly)
AFM
Air International
Flypast
RAN League NAVY (quarterly)
WARSHIPS:IFR (bi-monthly)
Air Pictorial
Aircraft Illustrated
Proceedings
World War II (bi-monthly)
World War 2 History (bi-monthly)
Aviation History (bi-monthly)
JETS (bi-monthly I think)
DEFENCE TODAY (formerly API/bi-monthly)
I have 6 months of TIME from last year but don’t collect them anymore, at the moment.
International Air Power Review Journal (case bound/quarterly)
Soon to add;
Osprey Military Journal (bi-monthly)
Japan’s SHIPS OF THE WORLD (monthly?)
And possibly later..
Scale Models INTERNATIONAL
TAMIYA MODEL Magazine
Scale Aviation Modeller
Don’t even get me started on books.. 🙂
>>in fact how much do you spend per month
TOO much, probably well over AUD$100/month including subscriptions. I have cut back recently to try and catch up on some reading.
>>and what do you do with them when you,ve read them???
I am a collector, I spend too much on them to simply throw them away.
Storage will be a problem in another 5-10 years time thats for sure. I will need a bigger apartment before too long. I have a lot in boxes at the moment pending the purchase of new bookcases.
Regards, Glenn.

RE: Books(again)
Kev
Yeah I know the feeling, I like to keep back back copies of AW and Aviation Letter some of which mysteriously disappear after a certain some-one clears up, luckily enough I still manage to keep hold of most of them

RE: Books(again)
Dave,
storage is a bit of a problem as I like to have my books on shelves where I can get to them and not kept in boxes in the loft. Wallspace is a bit of a problem as well due to the number of prints, photographs and medal groups which, again, I like to display where I can see them. Friends and neighbours have taken to calling my house the museum. It’s not a museum but if I keep acquiring ‘items of interest’ at my current rate it soon will be.

RE: Books(again)
I buy flypast and Medal News every issue without fail. I also manage to read Aeroplane monthly and a couple of the model magazines as I borrow them from a friend and he reads my flypast. As for books, I have well over a thousand, some of which are collectors items now and many of which I have obtained second hand. Subjects include histories of WWI, WWII, Vietnam, biographies and a number of standard reference books.

RE: Books(again)
AirlinerWorld is sent to me.I buy Aviation News monthly also.I don’t actually buy all that many magazines as I believe that most of the information given can easily be found out via news aviation sites alot earlier and in more depth.

RE: Books(again)
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-10-02 AT 10:09 AM (GMT)]I buy Airliner World and Airliners each month, totalling £6.55 a month. And after I have read them, I just add them to the pile. I have only just started collecting Airliners magazine, its good, but theres to many adverts in it for £3.20, unlike Airliner World, hardly any ads!!! 🙂
But somtimes I do buy other books, wich could range from 50p to £20?
