[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-10-02 AT 10:44 AM (GMT)]Prince Claus, husband of Queen Beatrix (queen of the Netherlands) has died last night. After a long period of illness he passed away in a hospital in Amsterdam.
He was one of the most popular members of the Royal family. He will be greatly missed, for all the things he did for Holland, for his humour and for making the bond stronger between Germany, his native country, and the Netherlands.
I wish the royal family the best of luck in these difficult times.
Rest in piece Claus.
regards,
Jeroen

I’ve always thought the Dutch monarchy to be really cool , not as distant and out of reach as this lot in UK , a sad day for Holland
