What tv service do you all have, eg, sky digital/telewest. Do you find that it works ok?
What internet service do you have, eg. broadband. Do find that that you have any problems with it ever?
Cheers.

RE: TV and Internet.
My ISP is AOL (America off-line is my joke because it takes ages to dial up)Its the cheapest around at Β£15.99.I used to use an ISP called Guernsey.net but it was just to expensive.AOL seems to be good with downloading,my Kazaa downloads only take a matter of 10-20 minutes.
Hand87_5,I think we get UUnet over here, are they not part of the Newtall Solutions Group?
My digital television is Sky digital.

Will CanalSat still live in some month? Because, with Vivendi’s financial problems…
Btw, I have a 2Mb line at work, and will have a DSL line in the next weeks π

Have French Satellite TV ( CanalSat) and using a low speed modem for internet at home. I will move on DSL in the next weeks.
CanalSat is very good. My actual internet service (UUnet) is crap.

RE: TV and Internet.
Ive heard the modem card you use with cable internet makes a huge difference. With the right modem card you can hit up to a Mb a sec.

RE: TV and Internet.
I do use a radio connection with a 10Mb link. Well, itΒ΄s a shared link among everybody in my building but it usually works fine because there must be no more than 10 users in the LAN. Its only disavantage when compared to cable and adsl connections is that radio connection is much more sensitive to weather conditions. Sometimes when it starts raining heavily here, it slows down a lot in a very annoying way. Here in brazil, most of the cable and ADSL connections are limited at the speed of 256Kb and cost twice the price of radio connection, so I dont have much to complain. π

http://www.kazaa.com/en/download.htm
This site should work, at least it did here. Be carefull, don’t download too much from kazaa, my cousin says it slows down the computere tremendously and he had to reboot his whole system because of it.

RE: TV and Internet.
Well I’m currently working with two HUBs, so it’s normal that it takes a little longer to download. But since i don’t use KAZAA that much, it’s of no real importance for me. And there’s no problem if all of us are on the internet at the same time, so that’s already a big advantage.

RE: TV and Internet.
Benjamin, what goes though your LAN? What is Telenet’s speed? These could influence… (If you’re on a 10 Mb net, it could be cause of some problems if doing other transfers at the same time)

RE: TV and Internet.
I’ve got a broadband cable connection (Telenet), works excellent, though downloading is not so good as I hoped it to be. Maybe because we have a network with 4 computers on it, this probably slows it down.
