RE: Good luck buddy
Well im still around -and will keep on posting related stuffs in order to widen our knowledge in military affairs. For the record since the last ten years app 10 military/ex military officers detained under the ISA/Emergency ordinance/OSA (not politicly motivated)-due to sensitive in nature offences.

Me, sit in front of a computer all night and day dreaming of being in the forces? But aren’t u the one that troddles the internet for every little bit of slightly newsworthy piece of information you can find for that extra post, and “read every single military mag that comes out each month”? π
Don’t get me wrong Ja, I’m not just bitching, I’m a sceptic, give me proof that you have access to the sort of information you profess to have, and I’ll believe you. I don’t post information that requires a “senior officer in the RAAF” to prove. Some of the things you have posted about the RAAF, I – being a sceptic – simply find hard to believe on your word alone (replacing H’s in the near future with more J’s, Flankers being a viable and seriously looked at proposition for AIR6000 among a few).
Tomel, I hope you didn’t take offence to my post. I’m not that familiar with Malaysia’s internal security situation, although I have friends and family over who “cannot speak their mind”. If you genuinely feel you are in trouble, I do feel for you, you are a valuable contribution to this forum, and should anything happen, it would sadden me – although if you have been posting information that would compromise your country’s security, I would have no qualms in calling you a traitor. Take care, good luck.

Good luck buddy
Tomel: I know what it’s like, read my latest addition on the Australian JSF bit, serriously buddy, good luck!
Min: same as what I said in my post, some of us actually do know what is going on out there, we don’t all sit in front of a computer night and day dreaming about what it would be like to be in the forces (We’ve been there and done that), so please be a little more concerned π
Zeke: Go away π
Leave no-one behind!

Tomel, if the Malaysian government wanted to exercise their ISA muscles, they would have done it already, so stop whining ;).

RE: Tracing net connections
Well thanks for the info /feedbacks guys-just to let you guys know that -Malaysia do not exercised censorship on the internet, but any sensitive material must not be discuss outside the relevant circle. If i may ask-when was the last time you noticed any details about MAF latest development being posted by a Malaysian?I do not have any attention -to get extra attention(sorry if some of you feel that way).I just do not want to leave the forum without saying goodbye. That wouldn’t be nice-by posting this message-at least you guys knows what might have happen to me.Today MINDEF issued an official statements regarding the need for the MAF to safeguard their information-with the help of new software .It seems hacking into the MINDEF site has been done before by certain parties(i ‘m not involved).
I loved my country-but here in Malaysia the situation is not the same as most other western nation.Singapore,Indonesia,Thailand -no exception-no body from this country ever posted anything about their AF -eventhough they visit this forum as a guest.
By the way -the feds here do not use black sedan with tinted glass nor do they wearing a sombre two piece suit. They could be your bus driver, postman, cable tv guy, fishmonger, hell they could even be the hot chick you met at the bar last night.

RE: Tracing net connections
Yes you’re right Zeke…posting things like “Awwwww c’mon” to a serious thread is a rather sad way to get attention, nice of you to be so honest!!!
Tomel, do not worry my friend. I doubt the Malaysian government will react in any harsh ways. But of course if any black painted cars are parked outside your drive when you’re trying to sleep, or if you noticed many people paying attention to you all you have to do is……..RUN LIKE HELL!!!!!! }>

RE: Tracing net connections
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-06-02 AT 10:16Β AM (GMT)]Tomel,
You can be traced by your IP address. There is an icon in the bottom left corner of the board window labelled IP next to the “alert” link which would show us the IP address that you are “logged on” with. (the webmaster here has this facility publically disabled however – probably very wisely).
This IP address will be part of a block or range that is assigned to ISP’s or companies by one of several internet authority’s covering specific geographic areas. The registrations of those IP address blocks was, at least last I checked, public information. So fairly quickly, given your IP address, I could confirm that you were logging on from Malaysia and find out whether you were at home or at work i.e if you were logging on through an ISP’s dial-up server you’re very likely to be at home, wheras if your IP address was registered to IBM, for example, your likely to be in work.
A quick enquiry from a senior govt. organisation to your ISP would probably be enough for them to relinquish the personal details you provided them upon signing up for theyre service. If youre at work an equally quick inquiry to your companies IT dept should also be quite sufficient to localise you very accurately.
Sorry I cant tell you better news Tomel!. Best bet is to ask the webmaster of this site not to give anyone your IP address if any “official” enquiries are made! π
To be honest though, I think, if you had posted priveliged material here someone from your Govt. would have requested the webmaster to remove it and you’d have already had some form of communication, not least from Keymags, regarding your transgression. I know I came close to letting something slip on another site, that probably wasnt public domain, and the webmaster, being a responsible sort, took very swift action to point out the dangers of the course I was on!!!

RE: If you dont hear from me .
I believe the Demonic term you are looking for Is ECHELON … and it works by scaning the words in you message… for example if i type… BOMB GUN ASSASIN CIA FBI TERRORIST KILL NSA KGB ALLAH JIHAD GEORGE W BUSH BARBARA STRAISEN (hey if you heard her sing) IRAN IRAQ SADDAM etc .. this means now this message will be saved and scaned by the boys in the NSA offices.. so you can then say to them.. Hello ugly fella.. how are you…. Your wife/girlfrined/fionce is being shaged by hispanic guy named Hernando just as you are reading this. Have nice day

RE: If you dont hear from me .
Most likely Tomel,
The Brits and the Americans have an special computer monitoring system for it, don’t remember what it’s called. But if you use words like: BOMB, nuclear device, Bin Laden, assassination, Bush et cetera in an E-mail you better make sure that the civil servant in it’s grumpy office has something to laugh about :-).
but I don’t think the intelligence community is all that interested in what we discuss here, it is all public information, for the well informed public may be, but public after all. So don’t worry about it.
regards,
