RE: Coulthard wins!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-05-02 AT 01:38 PM (GMT)]Hi Kev,
I imagine that MS was waiting to pounce on JPM or at least to provoke him into making a mistake, but after the Columbian had to retire, realised his closest rival was not going to score and seeing that he couldn’t overtake DC, settled wisely for the points.
But there were many moments when I thought one of the 3 leaders was going to try an overtaking manoeuvre. What pleasure though to see real suspense, with cars closely following one another, rather than the bore-fests we’d been witnessing for the last few races.
We had some adrenaline for once and a different winner from the Schuey brothers. All in all, a refreshing change!
Let’s hope it continues in this vein because I can’t see F1 retaining its worldwide audiences if the Grand Prix don’t serve up more thrills, skills and spills!

Snowman,
I agree it was much more interesting, entertaining and had no trace of the shennanigans introduced by Ferrari last time out. A good win for DC as Schumacher M did not seem too competitive, ie, none of his normal guts or glory moves on what turned out to be a bit of an anti-climactic weekend for Ferrari. Reubens had a bit of a fraught afternoon, perhaps he was trying too hard to keep up with Michael.
Also excellent coverage of the other ‘battles’ throughout the race by the tv director who all too often concentrate on the leaders.
Jim,
I fear a Jaguar win is too far ahead to contemplate. I also think they need a driver who is less of a playboy and someone who is more committed to success for both themselves and the team. I believe their current driver line-up are destined to end their careers as ‘also rans’.

RE: Coulthard wins!
It was an exciting race beliewve it or not, because the gap between the cars remained minimal. Nonne of that 32 seconds gap between the leader and the 3rd and 4th place after 10 laps nonsense.
I am disapointed that JPM’s engine let him down, but DC’s victory is a breath of fresh air.
An exciting contest all round, a bit of drama, real racing and suspense despite the few opportunities to overtake. That’s more like it!

yippie !!!!!!!!!!!!!
and like a dumb sod I did not watch the race !!
Monaco is one race where if u get out in front u will stay there unless ur car packs up or u go to sleep. Performance dont count for much.
unfortunately i dont see McLaren winning many more. But how I’d love to be proved wrong.
Eat dirt Schumacher if only for 2 weeks. !!!!!!!!!!
