Hi everyone,
I am looking at getting back into my old hobby of building models. However there is only one tiny problem, there are no model stores where I live in Birmingham. Does anyone from Britain or better the West Midlands region know of any mail order magazines available or stores within reach of Birmingham???
Also, how do I go about mail ordering decals of nations such as Cuba, Iraq or China. I want to concentrate on Eastern armour and aircraft as a theme. Any help as always will be appreciated.

hannants is good but………………………..
you must go to ED Models in shirley. pick up a modelling magazine and you’ll see there advert adress and telephone number. go there1 its the nearest to you and its well stocked with books and aircraft- dont let the size fool you. My father and i go there pretty regularly from the other side of wolverhampton- so its worth the trip!

I second GZYL’s recommendation of Hannants. They’re got a massive range of decals from all over the world, and their London shop’s pretty special too. I’ve ordered stuff from them via the internet with no problems at all.
Much nearer to Birmingham is ED Models, who have an excellent shop and a mail order department. To the best of my knowledge they don’t have a website, but their shop and mail address is 64 Stratford Road, Shirley, solihull, West Midlands B90 3LP.
Andy Pack Models, in Ross-on-Wye, are another solid bet. As well as a good stock of common items they import things from the Far East and Eastern Europe that nobody else does, like Kiddyland’s 1:72nd Ching Kuo kits. Their website is at www.andypack.com .
The Aviation Hobby Shop, at 4 Horton Parade, Horton Road, West Drayton, Middlesex UB7 8EA, certainly aren’t near Birmingham, but they might well have older and out-of-production stuff you might require, as well as a extensive stock of newer items and paints.
