I’m in a reflective mood today. Looking back at things that once were.
It is such a shame that TWA are no longer around. AA went back on their promises and completely erradicated the TWA image then sacked its employees and kept its aircraft and routes.
Many a TWA fan beleives the 747-400 would have been the natural choice for TWA if they had survived. Infact it is thought that TWA were in discussions with Boeing to replace their 747-100 fleet with 400s just before they were taken over by AA.

I haven’t bothered drawing PW engines for my 747-400 😉
I know, and I recall you mentioning this the template thread. Just wishful thinking on my part. You did the the pratts for the SP template, and I figured you would eventually do them for the 744 just for the heck of it. 😉

I miss TWA bigtime. I flew them twice back in the 70’s and 80’s. I was fortunate enough to fly on their 747 classics and the L1011. I might have been fortunate enough to fly on a 707 as well, but this cannot be verified as I was only 2 at the time and my mother didn’t know one plane from the other. I like that 744 in the recent TWA livery, Sandy. My favorite livery of theirs was the double red-stripe livery, as that is the one I was most familiar with when I was flying them. Just one little thing I’d like to point out. I noticed you put GE’s on that drawing, which is cool. However, if TWA ever did take delivery of the 744, my guess is that they’d have Pratts, seeing as they were a very loyal Pratt customer.
Indeed.

TWA, PanAm, Eastern – all gone!
And once there were times when there was only first class in air travel!
And once there were times when Stewardesses were pretty!
And when flying across the Atlantique had an air of – excitement.
