CVT 04-09

Something a little different from Coventry. A mix of old and new but all either commercial, business or privately operated aircraft with a commercial link. These were taken during two visits on the day and thanks to some superb hospitality from Will Jarman.

We’ll start with the graveyard and a couple of Electra’s and an MNG F27.

The F27 had a collision with a hangar door during the Winter storms early this year that affected its empennage. AIUI it is now beyond economic repair and is being broken down.

Superb shots Kev, it’s great to see these old birds, but ashame they are on the scrap heap. The Electra is/was a fantastic aircraft as was/is the F27. I flew in an F27 (G-JEAH) many times from Exeter to Belfast, great sounds from the Darts. That DC6 is really something else, it flew at the Ulster Airshow recently and was really a sight to behold. Well done Atlantic for keeping these birds flying.

All the best

Si

Excellent and very interesting shots, Kev, although it’s so sad to see those old and beautiful props sitting in such a state!
