I was in the academy workshop this morning carrying out a tensile test when I herd sirens pass the front of the hanger. As they passed it was time for a brake, I got camera and made my way to the back area outside of the hanger, fire engines were at the end of the runway waiting for a VC10. Dont know what it’s problem was, when I left at 3pm they were working on one of the engines. Also a GIRJet 757 arrived for FlyJet.

Cheers, Chris 🙂

them VC-10’s are that old I think its a common problem these days that the engines fail. I was working at Brize once on one of the tanker varients! dunno how it was still in the sky!
They are the only aircraft to not have crashed in there 41 years off service to the RAF.
You have no idea how jealous i am of you right now !
the words bloody lucky git comes to my mind 😀
WHAT!! please do its not every day we get a member taking a trip on one of the oldest and best looking aircraft operating out of the UK.
Dont forget the sound off them RR engines taking off.:D its one off them planes that make you proud to be british.

Tartan 35 as she was known diverted in due to smoke or flames in the cockpit. She left for Brize this afternoon.
