Took a trip to glasgow this morning at early o clock to try out new settings for my camera as i was having some trouble with it ( or so i thought it was the settings) but now we think it is the lens thats not focusing fast enough which was making the nose and the tail of the aircraft a bit out of focus but the center was fine, the lens was the sigma 70-300mm DG APO, on the taxi ramp the shots were fine but panning in with the aircraft as it was landing was when it was happening, would be grateful if any other member has had the same probs with that lens. Here is what i could salvage.

Love that rear view angle on the A330, somehow it always reminds me of that Disney cartoon “The Borrowers”. Anyone get my drift ??? 😉

Hi Rab,
I had the same lens earlier in the year(albeit on a Nikon body), binned it after 2 weeks, anything greater than about 230 mm was very soft and like you I found it very slow to focus.
