That’s just nine days away. Will Airbus have completed all taxy and other tests needed before the first flight can be completed? I guess it’s not a moment too soon since they are behind schedule, bu that does seem a little quick since they only started the engines for the first time only yesterday.

Same day as the first flight of Alpha1?
Sadly not
Alpha1 Airways Delays First Flight Due to Unforeseen Circumstances
Due to unforeseen circumstances the decision has been taken to postpone the launch of flights until the end of May 2005. This decision has not been taken lightly and does not mean that Alpha1 has ceased trading or will not fly.
“For the timebeing, all passengers booked on flights with Alpha1 have been refunded the cost of their ticket and their contract, which was held with Alpha1 has been ended. All passengers booked on to effected flights have now been informed of the cancellation and a full refund has been issued, in addition, effected passengers have been offered a 50% discount on their next flight with Alpha1.
We realise that this development has caused a great deal of inconvenience to some of our passengers and we sincerely apologise for this. AirMed have no responsibility in the postponement of services.
Alpha1 will enter the skies towards the end of May 2005, we look forward to welcoming you onboard soon!
Martin Halstead – Chief Executive – Alpha1 Airways
Martin able to shed anylight on this?
