hey all
(I’m gonna combine a mini trip report and airshow photos here)
myself, Sam and Adam arrived back home this morning having been to the Paris Le Bourget airshow 2007 yesterday. The day began at 5 am, in time for the check in for bmibaby flight WW5251 to Paris CDG from East Midlands.
The flight left promptly as scheduled; we were onboard 737-500 G-BVZH, and the weather wasn’t bad enroute:

I wanted to see the cockpit so waited until I was the last passenger onboard to leave once at CDG, and approached the cabin manager. She was great and introduced me to Simon, the co-pilot. I chatted for a couple of minutes with him and managed to get a shot of the (tiny) cockpit:

When we arrived at CDG, finding our way around the airport train station was a little difficult, but we managed eventually get the tickets we needed for the Le Bourget train.
The airshow was pretty good and the weather was changeable, raining heavily one minute; bright, warm sunshine the next. Still, managed to get a collection of shots:

Super shot of the new Falcon attacking the sky!

Awesome! The shot of you in the engine is just superb. I really should get my backside in gear and get to a major airshow somewhere sometime!
You sure there won’t be any more? 🙂

I find that I at airshow events like this, I prefer the ground displays becuase they are easier to photograph, hence the majority of these shots are of ground displays. 🙂
I think that’ll be all folks! 🙂

Excellent shots, Adam. Glad you had a good time!
Just one thing… You didn’t actually stay out in the rain… Did you? Surely not? In the wet? You’d never catch me doing that!
(The other day at MAN aside). 🙂
I really love the close up of the A380 APU exhaust. I’m not sure why, I guess it’s just an interesting angle not shown in many aviation shots. All in all, an excellent selection. 🙂

Very nice shots Adam!! Just wondering if that Northwest tail is a CRJ-900?
It is indeed a CRJ-900 🙂

Great shots!
I passed on the Paris Air Show this time around. I went along to the last one with a few members of the forum, but it wasn’t half as good as I had expected.

Great stuff Adam! You really coped well with the constraints of an airshow and got some nicely formed close ups.
Not an easy task to pull off!

After the airshow, it was back to CDG, this time to catch an Easyjet flight to Luton. The aircraft arrived 25 minutes late, and was a 737-700. I managed to snap a few shots during the night flight, and I will get those on some time soon. Once we had got to Luton, we were unable to get back home until 9am the following morning on the first train out of the town. So, we camped in Arrivals and departures all night. In fact, we spent more time in Luton airport than we did anywhere else that day! The seats are incredibly uncomfortable, so getting any sleep was difficult. We eventually got back home at about 11:30 this morning.
All in all, a super day!
thanks 🙂
