Hi All,
Today Northern_Git and I wandered to LBA, arriving at the ridiculous time of around 7am! On discovering they were on rwy 32 and all movements were backlit, there was only thing for it… -1EV and silhouette shots!

Then a search for better light commenced as they changed to rwy 14, so it was round to the Cemetery to discover the light wasn’t ideal there either, although it was much better. We did have a little experiment on the way though and found a nice spot for getting shots from underneath approaching aircraft.

No idea how this came to be in here… 😀

AHEM…

It was nice to see this girl doing a couple of circuits and low passes. Unfortunately I screwed up most of the shots I took of her and this was the best I came out with!

A random edit…

These last two are very poor as photos and I usually post them, but I’ve included them as they show one of the more interesting appoaches and landings I’ve seen here at LBA. Basically the aircraft didn’t flare and pretty much touched down on all three gear at the same time!
Here she is looking very shakey just before touchdown…

And Sam capturing an aviation bellyflop!

Unfortunately we were rained off in the early afternoon, so it was fish and chips then home much earlier than expected. I need to move to a sunnier country!
Thanks for looking! 🙂

Paul, once again you fail to surprise me. Regardless of the weather or the situation you always manage to make your pictures work.
Getting up at the airport at obscene hours is what it is all about – dedicated and patience, you sure made it pay off!
AMAZING mate 😀
