VIP at Glasgow city heliport EGEG

Passed the heliport today when i saw a nice chopper so it was transporting

a few of the royal family away

And any ideas why the RAF chopper did a fly past anyone

It’s not uncommon to see RAF/Army choppers such as Lynx or Gazelles in the Glasgow area for refuelling. I’ve even see the odd RAF Chinouk touch down at GLA for refuelling. And don’t forget that the Southern General Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley both have helipads that can support helos the size of Sea Kings, and often do.

Brilliant shots there Peter.Where abouts is the Chopper pad?

thanks for the comment james and thanks again for identifiing the chopper

it only came in briefly and went away never even stopper

the heliport is situated at the SECC down by the science centre tall ship

1 question though. How come you managed to edit some shots from today and post them and not do the same with the ones from Luton. Lol grea stuff thought.

DJ i was wondering that myself why the heliport wasent in use i have seen the carpark been used before but very rarly

Interesting selection there Peter, wonder why the S76 didn’t use the Heliport, there’s a lot of gravel there which I doubt does the paintwork much good on start up in the car park where it’s landed?
