Hi Jamie , Thanks for that , you were very close,
An examination of a 737 at BAMG reveled that it is the actual APU intake , you will only see it when the apu is running ,apparently this is on 300 series and above , I always thought the apu intake was rather like a flap , opening on the Fuselage like the 757,
You Learn something new every day

Kevin,
I believe what you see there is the the flap open to cool down the APU inside the rear of the aircraft, this sucks in air, cools it down and blows it onto the APU inside, on larger aircraft like the 74,75,76 an 77 you can see a duct open on top beside the tail of the aircraft which is less descreet than whats on this aircraft.
Don’t take my word for it yet, although I am positive this is what it is.
Thanks
Jamie M

Can anyone ID this
On the Picture of the SAS 737-683 there is what i believe to be a sensor protruding from the rear of the aircraft , I have spoken to a 737 engineer, they cannot id what it is as they only work on 300-400 and 500 series
Can anyone provide a answer
Kevin

Cheers Guys,
Im having great fun playing around with the new kit, finding different aspects from the usuall places around Glasgow,
With the Bigger image size and better image quality that the 100-400mm lens produce, im able to crop tighter which also gives a different perspective
Rab will catch you on Messenger later
