Only went to the Myrtle Avenue spot but I was very impressed with what Heathrow has to offer. Nice and easy to get to as well – shame I had a nightmare underground journey back though:( . Anyway, here’s some of what I snapped:

and one from Gatwick which I got on my way home:
Comments etc welcome. 🙂

Very good job,Tom. Is it not just astounding the amount of traffic you see at such a busy place?
I remember my “first time” at LHR as a 12 year old spotter, only airports been to before were Glasgow and Prestwick,( in those days you could have 4 747’s some DC8’s,707’s and MAC Starlifters sitting around PIK,which i thought was a lot of heavy metal!!) arriving by coach into the coach station at LHR you really can’t see much until bounding up the stairs of the Queen’s building, and the whole place opens up before your eyes, and seeing countless 747’s,707’s DC8’s Tristar’s DC10’s never mind the hundreds of “wee” stuff (Trident’s, 1-11’s,DC9’s etc..)and of course seeing those Concordes too.a memory that will live with me forever.
(of course, nowadays, i find myself falling asleep hehe)

Tom,
Great shots, I know it can be a pain in the butt getting to and from LHR but isn’t it worth it when you capture shots like this…well done mate. The Sterling 737 from Gatwick and Iranair SP are my pick of the bunch.
All the best
Si

One day I’ll go too! 😀
Fantastic shots. Liking the BA 747 muchly 🙂 Shame about the underground journey back though, last time I visited London was using it at rush hour which wasn’t the nicest experience! 🙂

i know the underground can be a nasty experience…..what happened?
Sam
Well there was a person under a train at Piccadilly Circus which was causing severe delays on the Piccadilly Line. I got on after waiting about 10 minutes at Hatton Cross and people were already standing. By the time we got to Acton Town the train was jam packed and I eventually just gave up there and got the District Line. 🙂
