as we all know, Spirit, a low cost airline in the USA has been doing a fleet renewal from Douglas DC-9’s and MD80’s to Airbus A319’s and A321’s. Whilst reading AW this month(APR 05), the story on the airline had an interesting final sentence….
“It’s possible that we could see an A330 on the books one day” 😎

Most people would call that being competitive. Nobody here seems to complain when they get a cheap flight (even perhaps when it has been subsidised by other routes, a la BA in the past).
