A Flying Visit To LBA… Literally! 08-03-07. BIIIG Post!

Hi All,

Today I had a bit of a novel day at LBA, as myself and Steve (EGNM) had (courtesy of Captain Benson), a nice little trip out in a Piper PA-28! We headed out over Keighley, then York. It was really enjoyable, and made a nice change from the 737’s and Fokker’s I’m more used to!

Get any of the Puma’s Paul?

Not really mate, this was about the best I could do with an 18-55 lens. I don’t have enough room on a 737-X00 or A32X to use the Bigma, so there’s no chance on a PA-28!

And dont forget the National Railway Museum;) 😀

Brilliant picture’s Paul 😎 May sound stupid but Elvington runway looks longer then LBA.

Regards
James

Elvington is longer! It’s 3000 metres as opposed to LBA’s 2250!

Thanks for your kind comments, all!

A good day was had by all I believe!

Some nice pics in there… although Paul, I wouldn’t like to state the obvious about that being York train station – surprising really with all them train lines!

Fantastic shots Paul! The PA-28 certainly is a nice aircraft to fly in!

This was my first time in a light aircraft and I have to say, I fully agree! I’m quite chuffed actually as I’ve now flown on a tiny 4 seater plane, a 747-400 and pretty much every size aircraft in between. Has to be said though, I’ve never had my mobile phone ‘levitate’ out of my hand on any other flight. That was interesting!

Thanks for your comments so far guys! 🙂

Hmm… How is someone on the other side of the world supposed to recognise it as York train station? This is the world-wide-web, you know?

Well… OK, perhaps it was stating the obvious to a point. There’s always one smart Alec, and strangely, it’s usually you!

Yup, sure was a good day. Very good day in fact! 🙂
