YYZ – A few from Pearson International. (56k warning)

Under normal conditions taking aircraft shots in the late evening light produces strong unwanted contrast.

I was lucky with this one due to the opaque nature of the alto cumulous clouds. The light reflecting off the snow on the ground has nicely illuminated the underwings.

Funny registration number. Perhaps I should have entitled the picture “Gaun yersel Son”.

Taken interestingly enough, with the standard kit lens on the Canon 300D. She was close!

Bland on bland. Another difficult subject against an overcast sky. Normally these types of shots would end up in the digital garbage bin… but I do like a challenge.

This shot proved to be tricky to process in Adobe due to the white on grey. Coming in from the south across Lake Ontario on short final to Pearson International.

The new Embraer 175. Made in Brazil and making hefty headway against Boeing and Airbus to be the choice of medium range aircraft for major carriers.

This bird is almost 27 years old. First registered on the 9th June 1980 with American Airlines where she flew for 20 years. Yes 1980 – keep that in mind if you see it flying overhead.

Then a short stint with Hawaiian Airlines before being put in storage in the Mojave Desert.

FedEx came along and gave the old girl another lease of life. She was converted to a freighter in time for Christmas 2005.

Super shots Martin, the Jazz EMB looks great. I saw this paticular Fed Ex DC-10 at Palma De Mallorca in Aug 2006 !! Strange for them to flying to/from their.

excellent shots there, the lighting is quite abstract in some of them. my favourite is the Air Canada embraer.

Sam

Thank you Sam,

Usually the underside of any aircraft is quite a bit darker, either because of the gun metal grey, or the reflection of the ashphalt or soggy grass. There was quite a bit of snow on the ground and this afforded me the luxury of added illumination. It also afforded me the luxury of almost freezing my fingers and ears off haha.

Kevin and I actually did take a couple of shots whilst it was snowing, not technically great shots but interesting that they can land in just about anything.

Cheers,

Madness. :diablo:

Like the Jazz CRJ7, very nice indeed. Must visit Canada sometime.

Helloooo Scottie,

Just to prove that folk look at the signature links…

This is a brilliant shot.

… but only 16 views in 4 months… Our fan base can do better than that haha.

Great to be amongst fellow aviation eejits (I say that in the nicest way possible of course 😀 )

A great selection there from YYZ and welcome to the forums. I like the first one ”GAUNae no dae that !” 😀

Pretty sure I snapped her at GLA the odd time when they operated here…?

And you were from Dunlop, I was just passing through there at the weekend.
