New Camera = Drama!

Finally managed to take my brand new Canon 350D out to the airport today with my new lenses, and silly me forgot to put the camera in the correct mode!! So after taking 120 odd pictures, got home and found every picture blurry! So I tried to save a few, but didn’t manage to sadly, I’ve attatched a few so you can all laugh at my expense! :diablo:

Thanks everyone.

I would have gone back to the airport today for a second try, but I don’t think that’d be such a good idea with how bad the weather’s due to be!!

I always check before I leave so when I arrive at the airport I can grab the cam and shoot, instead of fiddling around and missing stuff.

I suppose its like following a workflow in photoshop!

CF cards, empty and loaded!
ISO and RAW selected
Batts
hats and gloves!
Beer money 😉

That’s exactly what I started doing a while back after forgetting batteries/not re-setting camera settings, etc.

Good to see I’m not the only one who has to ensure I have beer money before leaving the house!

Never mind, Matt. It happens to everyone at some point. Good try none the less.

I often shoot night sports at ISO3200, so remembering to change back the settings is now part of my pre-trip check! I’ve been caught out before.

Unlucky Matt, good efforts all the same! I’m sure you will be producing superb shots soon. 🙂

I’ll be posting my shots taken with the same kit in an almost identical location later on!

Peter

One of my camera’s is the 350D. I shoot in Tv mode, trying to maintain a shutter speed of 1/500 and F8-11, if you use Av mode for shooting in bad light then it will drop the shutter speed down and hence create blurry images as you not “freezing” the action, esp on aircraft taking off and landing, you might get away with it on the taxiing ones.

Practise makes perfect, shooting in bad light to start with won’t make it any easier.

I could have probably shot at 1/500 f8 yesterday had I cranked the ISO up to 3200! Damned Manchester cloud!

Nice shots there Matt.

Remember to have them saved in the highest quality in Photoshop (if you use it) and on the camera it’s self. Always check your settings, my old 300D used to turn it’s self to Tv mode occasionally :diablo: and always check your shots out after taking them 🙂

Keep it up! 😉
