Flybe recently started a service from Eastleigh (SOU) to Dusseldorf which meant it could be done as a daytrip. So the 3 of us arrived for a 06.30 departure on Flybe HS145 G-JEBD for the short flight (1hr 5min) to Dusseldorf.
On arrival we had to wait until 9am for the terminal deck to open. This costs 2 euro and gives some excellent views of the runways. After 90 mins or so here (in the light rain) we moved to the railway station facility (the ticket allows entry to both) and spent the rest of the day here in the dry.

James,
thanks for the comment – not sure but it does look possible, then again it could just have come back from a lease. There is a lot of aircraft swopping going between flyDba, Hapag Lloyd, Germania & Air Berlin (Fk100;s mainly) so it could be moving to or returning from one of those.
The ‘star’ was the AN12 – very nice to see one active but emission control is not its strong point. The Libyan Corvette was nice to photograph but I had first seen it at LHR in 1985!
Equipment used was Canon 20D + 100-400IS lens
