As most of you probably already know Dan (Wannabe Pilot) and myself took a trip to DUS a couple of weekends ago now! Even though DUS wasn’t the original plan it was definitely worth it even with the slightly dodgy weather on the Saturday and I would recommend it. I’d say it’s pretty comparable to MAN in terms of number/type of movements if you’re looking for a UK equivalent, anyway, on with the pics.
Just after I had arrived this was the sight that greeted me, what a beast!

Not great quality, this is more so you can see the crazy amount of cargo that came off the B773, there are another couple of pallets to the left that you can’t see!
DUS is LTU’s main base I believe.
The viewing terrace on top of the terminal is great for shots like this:

Pretty errr interesting livery, suppose you could argue it looks better in the flesh. 😉

Excellent shots, especially the first one.
The 777-300ER is a fantastic piece of kit. The ones I have flown recently with Etihad have been so powerful, it’s beyond belief. Even on one of the flights, which was about 95% full, it got airbourne in no time at all, throwing every passenger right back into the their seat!

Some from Sunday now, I’ll start a new thread for the rest:

This guy proceeded to stop right in front of the spectators terrace to perform a 5min engine run! Must have been heavy because he tried to get every inch of available runway as he lined up, followed by a long take off roll.
