Hi All,
Myself and a friend had a little 4 day trip over to Berlin last week. We flew on KLM via AMS and into Tegel, and our hotel was right by the approach into TXL.
These were taken from my hotel room window. It’s a shame they’re backlit, but considering all I had to do was get out of bed, walk 4 meters to the window, pick up my camera and press the shutter release, I can’t really grumble! It’s quite novel being woken in the morning by a 737 screaming past your window!
(Camera – Canon 350D. Lens – Sigma 50-500 DG).

A short 5 minute walk took me to this spot on the other side of the approach, where the lighting was a little more friendly!

And lastly, a few from AMS on our return journey. I only had around 10 minutes at Schiphol before the weather started to get a little grey and overcast, so I only snapped a few and retired to the KLM lounge to consume red wine. 🙂
Firstly, our ride. I did get some odd looks on the bus as I pulled out my 350D with the Sigma 50-500 mounted on it, but hey… I don’t care!

Lastly, my favourite aviation-type shot of the trip, taken from near our hotel…

Two totally different birds in one shot!
Some of my random non-aviation shots from the city and Berlin Zoo can be found here. It really is a great place, and very high on my ‘to visit again’ list.

Some cracking shots there. Very impressed. I know what you mean by having a hotel close to the airport. I went to a hotel close to Murcia San Javier and got woken by the Patrulla Aguila every day.

what was the Fokker 70 like?
James
Exactly the same as the 100 except a bit shorter and with slightly different switches to turn the overhead reading light on and off!
Thanks again guys!

I know what you mean about backlighting working, Adam, unfortunately J.Net don’t like that kind of thing! Ah well… Who cares! 🙂

cool variation of aircraft! backlit or not, beautiful photos. i think that some backlit photos can look really great – for example the HLX New York taxi special colours one is really nice – the backlit just works for me in that one.
