Took a jolly down to LHR from EMA on the Belfast Concorde (Sh.360 G-BMHX) on 22nd August 1989 – I used to work for British Midland and the standby fare for staff was £10 return. Here’s a few photos from that day, again all scanned Kodachromes:

Thanks for looking, and sorry to the dial-up visitors!

Memories…. In those days most of us were flying off to the med in 732’s and 1-11’s.

Didn’t that Air Malta 727 crash when it went of lease to KM, sure I read somewhere that on its way back of lease it didn’t arrive? 😮

ahhhhhhhh… I flew on a Swissair A310 from Zurich to Heathrow back in ’89. my recollection of it was a pretty hot summer (especially if you then spent 5 hours in the Train from Euston to Glasgow right after…)
don’t have the outbound reg, but inbound (LHR-ZRH) was HB-IPE, the first built A310. It’s now with FedEx as N450FE.

Takes me back, easy to forget Iberia(and Viva) had 737’s! I remember a time when many of the Iberia fleet were operating with regs like EC-215 etc, was never sure why they had those temp regs? Love the 72’s too. Amazing thet the IB,LH and AZ schemes are almost the same now(except LH a little bit).

Very nice selection! Especially the 727s and the KLM A310.

WOW, and to think no A320’s were buzzing around unlike today. Thanks for sharing a proper blast from the past.
