Humberside Airport is delighted to announce a new route to the Costa del Sol, which launches this spring.

Tour operator Airtours Holidays has confirmed a full programme of flights from Humberside Airport to this well loved Spanish holiday destination. Flights will be departing from the airport on Sundays from May 1 to October 30 and will be on sale from today.

The flights, operated by airline Astraeus, will have a capacity of 148 seats, which will mean that nearly 4,000 passengers from the region will be able to jet off to Malaga from their local airport over the Summer season. Passengers travelling from Humberside will also be able to enjoy the added convenience of daytime flight departures.

The Costa del Sol has always been a popular destination with British holidaymakers, offering a welcoming mix of sandy beaches, colourful nightlife and friendly local charm.

Rob Goldsmith, Managing Director of Humberside Airport, commented: “We are delighted that passengers will be able to travel from Humberside Airport to Malaga and the Costa del Sol.

“Given the high demand for flights from Humberside Airport this Summer, we are confident that flights from this popular destination will sell quickly, so we are encouraging holidaymakers to book early to avoid disappointment.”

Keeley Butchart, Product Manager for Airtours Holidays, commented: “We’re very pleased to confirm the launch of our programme of holidays from Humberside Airport to the Costa del Sol for 2005.

“And we’re glad to be working with Humberside Airport which has an excellent reputation for quality service and friendly staff. In addition, its ideal location gives us access to a catchment area of over a million people who will have the ideal start to their Airtours holiday from their local airport.”

Rob Goldsmith continued: “Sales ahead of the Summer season have been very strong and we are extremely confident that we will be in a position to announce additional flights and capacity in the very near future.”

Good news for HUY, especially with Doncaster International about to open……but surely a new operator, not a new route as Thomson/Britannia have been operating Malaga out of Humberside this winter.
