Pimp my Plane

From Aero-News Network:

‘Pimp My Plane?’ MTV Producers Eye Aviation
Mon, 07 Mar ’05

Oh, Yikes.
Perhaps you’ve seen it — a program on MTV called, “Pimp My Ride.” In it, a crew of automotive make-over experts from West Coast Customs take an ugly old jalopy and turn it into a dream ride.

Well, it seems cars aren’t the end of the story. Now, the producers are thinking about a show that the Dallas Morning News says can only be called, “Pimp My Plane.”
Really.
“We’re in the process of talking to an owner. We’ve never done an airplane, so we don’t know the playground yet,” said Tito Arteaga, president of marketing and public relations for the Los Angeles company, in an interview with the Morning News. “It’s a huge canvas to play with.”

What might you expect from a show like this? If past experience is any indicator, look for fancy seats (the Morning News suggests alligator as an option), high-end electronics, head-banging sound systems and colors that might glow in the dark or turn your stomach — or both.

“These are all based on the personality of the person. We sit down with a customer and give them guidance of what might look good for them,” Arteaga told the Dallas paper. “What we do really depends on the customer and the feel of the customer.”

How would your crasy damm cool pimped up aircraft look like???!
😉 😎 😀 :diablo:

Can’t wait seeing the West Coast Customs team going out to AMARC to refurbish all the aircrafts lying under the desert sun!!! 😉 😀

Since most pimpmobiles are small, secondhand and dirtcheap, I’ll start with “my” very own Fokker F100.

  • very small nose wheel;
  • very large main wheels;
  • shock absorbers should be controllable so the plane can bounce in the parking lot
  • Add some spinners as well;
  • triple the surface area of the tail;
  • hang flurry dice from the back up compass (since there is no rearview mirror);
  • replace the Speys for GE90s;
  • empty the forward cabin and add lead to counter weight the GE90s;
  • blue tube lightning under the hull and wings;
  • replaint the plane. Not white with a colorful tail, but metallic red everywhere (you should be able to see your reflection);
  • add some fire stickers;
  • replace the normal radio for a stereo with dolby surround;
  • don’t forget to add boxes under the wings! Everyone should be able to hear me coming;

some excellent commercials by an insurance company featuring a very special pimp mobile. Be sure to check all three of them out as they are hillarious!

Completely unrelated to pimp mobiles, but I can’t get away without showing this one! It is the best add I’ve even seen. It even caused a diplomatic incident cause the North Korean ambassador was not that pleased! Wonder why? Don’t be put off by the “Korean” language/Dutch subtitles, it is insignificant.
