Photos from BHD (for a change)

Just a few photos from Belfast City over 3rd and 4th March while testing my new 70-300mm lens on my Nikon D70. Not much variety at BHD I’m afraid, with flybe the most common airline at the airport. 🙁

Though as you can see Andrew, G-MIDE in the very old colour scheme was also in (yesterday) …..

I didnt mean every flight as the LHR to BHD route needs a minimum of 2 aircraft to operate since when the flight to LHR is in the air there is a flight to BHD from LHR in the air too.

Star Alliance was overnighting Friday Night but just passed airport 20mins ago and isnt there on ramp.

I’ve also got a shot of G-MAUD taken last June when A330Crazy and I flew up to Glasgow to meet up with Ren Frew. This one was taken from within the terminal, whilst hanging around, waiting for our flight back to Heathrow:

I nearly got arrested trying to take this one at BHD…

Good ole MAUD – I’ve racked up 11 flights on her, the first in December 97 and the last in October 03.

I know what security can be like at BHD, but more so in the days when Shorts actually made aircraft there. I can remember on an Ulster Aviation Society trip from BHD to MAN in October 93 being reprimanded very severely for attempting to take a photo of our group boarding our Jersey European 146 (G-JEAK) as there were two University Air Squadron Bulldogs barely visible on the other side of the ramp, in the background. The shot would have included the general area of the Tucano hangars too 😮 Strange then that we ended up with a tour of the Tucano production facility some time later and photos weren’t a problem.

Jobsworths – doh! 😡

Sorry Shamrock, I’ve no up to date facts and figures on aerarann. You’re right though, Jet2 going is a blessing for them all right.
